PARAMORE's Next Album on the GO!

Paramore recruits Greenday producer for their New Album.

Band is entering studio with Rob Cavallo in the next few days!

There's been no shortage of (sorta) updates on the status of Paramore's new album: Last month, frontwoman Hayley Williams blogged about finishing lyrics on demos and eating Ramen noodles. Late last year, she told MTV News that she's "got a lot to get out" on the album, and she started a mini-riot with her new two-tone hairstyle. There were no confirmed song titles, no firm release dates ... nothing solid to satisfy Paramore fans hungry for info on the new record.

Until now!

Thanks to yet another Williams blog update, we now have a few pieces of concrete information about the album: specifically, who will be producing it, and where the band is recording it.

"I stayed up all night writing ... randomly checking my e-mail, as if anyone sends me emails at 4 a.m., and occasionally, signing online to see if maybe — JUST MAYBE — a friend would also be suffering from insomnia. I did write a few things that I thought were alright," Williams wrote. "Honestly, I'm just anxious to get into the studio. We start next Sunday. We'll actually be heading to California instead of keeping to our original plan to make the record here at home ... which is a-okay! In fact, I'm pretty pumped to be getting out of the sloppy weather we've had here in Franklin [Tennessee]. We'll be making the record with Mr. Rob Cavallo ... we're very excited!!!

"It's gonna be a good time," the post continued. "That's about all I have to tell you guys. We're a week away from making our third full-length record."

And given that she wrote the blog last week — and based on some photos posted on Paramore's site — it means that the follow-up to the band's breakthrough Riot! album is officially a go. And they're making it with a certified hitmaker.

Another update from Hayley William's Journal:

"helloooo dear friends

welp! we’re a week into tracking this record. tonight we finished the 4th song and zac tracked drums to the 5th… so things are moving really quickly. we’re actually doing a song at a time, which we’ve never done before. i really like how it’s coming together. it’s nice to be able to start a song and focus on it all the way through until it’s complete. or at least 95%.

without making this into some kind of unofficial press release… i’m so excited about the songs we have. i can’t wait to tour with them… for you guys to hear. i was really nervous for a long time about what songs we’d write and how we’d come across this time around… but now listening back to what we’ve gotten done, my worries are gone. it feels great to really love what we’re doing.

brandon (the genius behind the “fourth meal” videos) is coming back out this week. he’ll be filming all kinda stuff and eventually posting things for you guys and specifically for fan club members. brandon rules, doesn’t he?! i’m stoked for him to hang with us. what a salty fellow.

oh my goodness, i’m so tired. i can’t keep my eyes open. i better get some sleep.
thanks for reading. it was good to see a few of you at the show the other night… miss seeing your faces while on tour! …. okay really, i just dozed off…. goodnight neverland!"

So there you go, I have been waiting for their next album, i hope they'll release it asap! rofl. :) cant wait!

Now Showing : "Salmonella"

What is salmonella?

The frequency with which gut-churning salmonella bacteria invade our food lately has all the elements of a bad movie plot that brings us to our knees and makes us hurl.

Lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, peanut butter and now pistachios. Pistachios?

The FDA warned people this week to avoid all foods with pistachios until they can figure out the latest contamination. Only two people have been sickened so far but officials are concerned the problem may grow, according to news reports.

About 40,000 cases of salmonellosis are reported in the United States each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Many milder cases are not reported, so the agency figures the real count may be 30 times higher. Most people just get a fever and an upset stomach. Some people show no symptoms at all. But "salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems," the FDA states.

What's with these bugs?

Salmonella are a group of different strains of bacteria that can contaminate almost any food, causing diarrhea, abdominal pain and fever. Scientists are still learning why the microbes are so problematic. One reason is that they have evolved tricks to get around the human immune system.

Infamous for clinging to cutting boards even after they've been washed, salmonella is now known also to lurk inside you, multiplying quietly, then striking only when it has build up a formidable and sickening force.

Your best defenses, according to the CDC:

Don't eat raw or undercooked eggs, poultry or other meat. Pink in the middle? You're at risk.
Uncooked meats should be kept separate from produce, cooked foods and ready-to-eat foods.
Hands, cutting boards, counters, knives and other utensils should be washed thoroughly after touching uncooked foods. Hands should be washed before handling food, and between handling different food items.

Another lesser known source of contamination: pets.

Reptiles, including turtles, are prone to pack salmonella on their skin. A 2004 study by Michigan researchers, reported in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases, found that nearly 12 percent of salmonellosis cases in children up to age 5 were caused by reptiles.

Ducklings and chicks can pack it in their intestines and infect their surroundings. "Children can be exposed to the bacteria by simply holding, cuddling, or kissing the birds," according to the CDC.

Perching birds also can catch salmonella, and Virginia citizens have been reporting a significant number of deaths of birds common to bird feeding stations such as finches. Salmonella occurs in wildlife in regular cycles, and this appears to be in one of them, says Jim Parkhurst, a state wildlife specialist.

People handling contaminated bird seed can become infected with salmonellosis, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after contact with products or surfaces potentially exposed to salmonella. Good sanitation with feeding stations is recommended for the sake of the birds and us.

Happy April Fool's Day!

I wonder what april fool's day means to others because after being human in the past 22 years i havent really been fooled as you may call it on the first day of april. (2009)

when i woke up this morning, i have received tons of sms messages, prank messages telling non sense stories, saying "you've been fooled!", "happy april fool's day!" err, yess, whatever. i couldn't inhale the meaning.

OK, i got this from a source and it tells the history of april fools:

The history of April Fool's Day or All Fool's Day is uncertain, but the current thinking is that it began around 1582 in France with the reform of the calendar under Charles IX. The Gregorian Calendar was introduced, and New Year's Day was moved from March 25 - April 1 (new year's week) to January 1.

Communication traveled slowly in those days and some people were only informed of the change several years later. Still others, who were more rebellious refused to acknowledge the change and continued to celebrate on the last day of the former celebration, April 1. These people were labeled "fools" by the general populace, were subject to ridicule and sent on "fool errands," sent invitations to nonexistent parties and had other practical jokes played upon them. The butts of these pranks became known as a "poisson d'avril" or "April fish" because a young naive fish is easily caught. In addition, one common practice was to hook a paper fish on the back of someone as a joke.

so there i and you go. maybe this would help for those like me who doesn't experience fool's day. hahaha. :) i am so not normal, why would i want somebody to fool me today? anyway, no matter where you happen to be in the world on April 1, don't be surprised if April fools fall playfully upon you. HAPPY APRIL FOOL's DAY! :)
